Studio Kai Linke
Vita

Due to his courageousness for experiment he achieves new forms, materials and ways of manufacturing. Being the son of a german father and a dutch mother the examination of different cultures is as important as the discovery of new worlds. The impressions that he gains traveling, on flea markets, in nature or within art & working with materials and colours he collects and diverts this essence into designs that range between seriousness and fun, between symbolism and functionality and between familiarity and conscious irritation. He discovers the odd in the daily grind.

During his studies at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main he was selected to be a scholarship student of the German National Academic Foundation and he worked for Studio Makkink & Bey and for artists such as Tobias Rehberger and Tomas Saraceno. With his STUDIO KAI LINKE, founded in 2009 in Frankfurt/Main, he develops lights and furniture for international manufacturers, objects for public places and exhibition- and interior design. His designs are part of many exhibitions and collections and have been awarded several times. He has been scholarship holder of Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart and is teaching with Prof. Gebert since 2015 on the University of Arts Kassel.

He worked for international companies and institutions like Pulpo, Ekobo, &tradition, Magazin, SAP, Messe Frankfurt, Akademie Schloss Solitude, Deutsches Design Museum, Jan Kurtz, SoudaSouda, Auerberg, Frankfurter Palmengarten, C-KL, Kaufmann Keramik, Lindenberg Hotels, SevenSwans, Pension für Produkte, Stylepark, Stadt Offenbach, Stadt Frankfurt, Stadt Kelsterbach.
